We finally saw The Da Vinci Code last night. I didn’t think it was nearly as bad as everyone claimed when it came out. The book was a lot better, of course, but Ron Howard makes good movies and I thought he did this one as well as he could have. There were a couple of moments in the movie that were pretty lame, but overall we both thought that the movie did an adequate job of getting through the many pages of “historical explanation” from the book.

I definitely think that my fascination with the overall story/premise has been destroyed by the fact that Dan Brown didn’t even try to convince people that he didn’t make the whole thing up, but it was an enjoyable ride nonetheless.

At the beginning of the DVD, there was a brief mention that “Angels & Demons” was in production, another Dan Brown book I read that I felt was better than Da Vinci. I didn’t even know they were making that into a movie, but with Ron Howard and Tom Hanks back on board, I’ll begin looking forward to it.
