Back at work after the Thanksgiving holiday and doing my part to revive the Internet for Heather.
Every now and then I’ll read in somebody’s blog about how they get drawn into performing computer tech support during holiday weekends. This hadn’t been an issue for me until this holiday, when my mother-in-law asked me to take a look at a computer problem she was having. Thankfully, it was an easy problem to fix (and kudos to my mother-in-law for noticing that her anti-virus was complaining about not being able to update itself). I’ve been pretty lucky so far to have not had to be tech support for my extended family, so when the occasional request comes by I’m not jaded enough to be upset about it.
On Saturday, I was going to vacuum in my “office”, but I found that our vacuum no longer had any suction. I had two choices; try to pull the vacuum apart to find out if something was blocking air flow, or venture out into the land of the holiday shopper to buy a new vacuum. Since Emily and I had previously talked about buying a new vacuum anyway, I got dressed and ventured out to buy one of these:

I had no idea there was that much stuff in our carpet. Wow.
